If you’re living in an area affected by the devastating drought, you know how expensive it is to maintain a healthy front and backyard. Between the cost of mowing, edging, sodding, and especially watering, maintaining natural grass is at an all-time high. In addition, some states, like California, have placed restrictions on water usage depending on your tier, which has resulted in expensive fines.

Lawns can be quite the water appreciators, especially in San Benito County’s Mediterranean climate. In Hollister during a good year, the area gets 11 to 12 inches of rain a year, but a lawn needs 64 inches of water to stay green, explained a local water expert.

If you prefer a beautiful green grass, but find it difficult to maintain the expense, consider installing an artificial lawn.
