This looks just like real grass – feels like it, too. But, it doesn’t require any watering. What a fantastic way to save this precious resource!
- Set up community flea markets or yard/garage sales periodically throughout the year. Buying used rather than new can save you money and can also help the environment. If you want to get rid of something, you can throw it away, you can sell it, or you can give it away. The former is what you are trying to avoid.
- Work on promoting and education residents about public transportation. Make it easy and make it accessible. Ranking the city higher on the walkability meter is what you want. Bus, train, bicycle, or even carpool can reduce carbon footprints immensely.
- Promote local growers and businesses. Convince residents of the importance of buying local and supporting local businesses.
- Education is key when it comes to going green. Most people want to make a difference, but they either don’t know how or they aren’t even aware that something is a problem. Having community programs in place to educate, train, and act on environmental conservation efforts can make a substantial difference. After all, you cannot change what you don’t know or don’t understand.
