Artificial Grass In Springs

The Springs, PA Farmers Market is one of the largest markets in the surrounding area. It boasts many sellers and buyers. In fact, according to their website, they have over 80 local farmers and craftsmen who come to sell their home-grown fruits and veggies or their array of homemade and handmade goods. The residents of Springs know the importance of keeping things local and go out to support their neighbors.

Buying local is one of the first steps to going green in your life. There are many other ways that can help, too.

  • Recycling is important. Many different items can be recycled – aluminum cans, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and bags, glass, etc.
  • Buying used products, including clothing and electronics. If you are looking to purchase a new product, consider checking thrift stores, consignment shops, or garage sales to discover something that may work for what you are looking for! Buying new is always a waste of time, money, and resources.
  • Consider giving up your automobile for a more environmentally-friendly transportation method. Using the bus or riding a bicycle are two great options. Carpooling with others works, too. However, if the winters are just too cold in Springs and you want to keep using your own transportation, perhaps you could upgrade to an electric car or one that is efficient and uses E85.
  • Reduce your water usage. Inside your home, pay attention to just how much water you use. When you are doing things such as brushing your teeth, flushing the toilet, taking a bath or a shower, washing your dishes or your clothes, cooking, etc. you use water. Are you being cautious at the amounts you use? Start paying attention. Outside the home, you likely wash your car, water your lawn, water your flowers or your garden – do you leave the hose running? Do you water your lawn during the coolest or the hottest part of the day? Start cutting back on your usage. If green lawn is what you want, then consider switching your grass for artificial turf. It looks and feels just like real grass, but it requires no watering!
  • Stop drinking water in plastic bottles. Buy a filter for your faucet and drink tap water in your reusable bottle. When you take your lunch to work, do so in a reusable lunch box rather than paper or plastic bags that you will end up discarding.
  • Unplug all electronics and appliances that you are not currently using. Even if they are turned off, they still create a trickling flow of electricity. This includes things such as televisions, cell phone charges, computers, etc.
  • Turn off all lights when not in use. In other words, upon exiting a room, make it a habit to turn off the lights. During the day, make use of the sunlight when you are able. Open the blinds and let the sun light up your room.
  • Do you have any reusable shopping bags? It’s a great idea to buy yourself a few and take them with you when you shop. Each bag typically holds more than a plastic grocery bag and the waste it saves can really add up!
  • Plant a tree or a garden. Not only does this help the environment, a garden can be a means of food for you and your family.
