The National Weather Service revealed several new temperature records set yesterday, including Yuma (120 degrees), Phoenix (118) and Tucson (115).

These are merely glimpses of what may be in store for us in the future if we don’t change the way we consume energy.

“If we continue with business-as-usual burning of fossil fuels,” he said, “by mid-century what we think of as extreme summer heat today will become a typical summer day.”
